The Tech Team continues its commitment to broaden the technology experience of each member of the Chatham Hall community. We work to create an environment that provides an opportunity to investigate and experiment with new tools, enhance critical thinking, and continually reshape the classroom experience. The iPad pilot program is one such example of this out-of-the-box thinking.
There are dedicated computer labs and laptop carts available for academic use. Additional computers are available throughout the library for academic and general student use. All classrooms, offices, and dorm rooms are equipped with both wireless and wired connections. Wireless connectivity is provided throughout the campus.
Email accounts and file servers are maintained for communication and sharing of information. All students are provided a Chatham Hall email account. Our high speed Internet connection is protected by a firewall and content filtering.
What You Need to Know
All students are required to bring an iPad 2 (or later). We highly recommend AppleCare Plus or some other insurance coverage on the iPad. We also highly recommend a laptop for backing up your iPad and accessing full versions of word processing and content creation software. Student laptops (PCs or Macs) must have up-to-date virus protection. We are happy to provide support assistance for computers purchased within the United States.
