Alumnae Council

Dear Fellow Alumnae,

What a wonderful year it has been for me as President of the Alumnae Council. Attending the Toast from Coast to Coast in Maine at the home of Sarah Meacham, "the hostess with the mostess," was a real highlight. Our 2011 Reunion was certainly another. If you haven't been to a reunion weekend lately, I urge you to make the trip. I feel sure you will have a great time.

I am often asked, "What does the Alumnae Council do?" In addition to lending our enthusiastic support for the mission of the school, the following are some of our activities.

  • We plan and promote our yearly Alumnae Reunion. Join us at Chatham Hall on May 4- 6, 2012
  • We organize regional get-togethers.
  • We promote pride in the professional and volunteer accomplishments of our Alumnae through the Distinguished Alumna Award. Submit your nomination today.
  • We assist Admissions by hosting events for prospective students, attending school fairs, and encouraging applications from friends and fellow alumnae. Please join us in this effort.
  • We raise funds in support of the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship Fund.
  • We encourage classmates to contribute Class Notes to the Chat and to participate in our Facebook.
  • We provide leadership by example in Chatham Hall’s Annual Fund.

These are exciting days at Chatham Hall. We have a near record breaking enrollment in our freshman class; it is the first year of the Nilsen Scholar program; the athletic program is booming; innovative pedagogical uses of technology are underway, the groundbreaking Leaders in Residence program continues; and those are just a few of the fabulous things taking place on campus!

As fellow alumnae, we on the Council welcome your interest, participation, and support. Perhaps you would even like to join us on the Council. It is made up of a great group of diverse women. For more information, contact me at petiek@sbcglobal.net, or contact any member of the Advancement Office, which coordinates Alumnae Relations for Chatham Hall. They will gladly put you in touch with other members of the Council or will provide you with direct assistance.
