Foreign Language Students Honored

Chatham Hall Foreign Language students were recognized for outstanding results in National exams. 

The following French students placed in the top 20% of the National French exam and received a Certificat de Réussite.

French I – Rachel Neller ‘15, Claire Mayo ‘15, Leslie-Claire Blossom ‘15, Elizabeth Hollerith ‘15, Xiangxiang Luo ‘14, and YolandaMantilla ’15

French II – Kilraine Pinyard ’15 and Katie Buckner ’15

French III –Caitlyn Morris ‘14, Molly Penny ‘14, Trilby Hren ‘13, and Sasha Seliverstova ‘13

French IV –Abena Obeng ‘12, Hannah Haymes ‘12, and Sydney Lane ‘12

French V – Krista Phillips ‘12

The following French students ranked in the top 10%. 

French I – Kelsey Woody  ‘15

French II – Walker Abbott ‘14

French III – Vaden Vosteen ‘13

French IV – Ji Min Kim ‘12

French V – Helena Schorling ‘14 

The following French students are national winners who received medals for their exceptional placements. 

French I

Beatriz Llaca ’15 was awarded a bronze medal for placing ninth in Virginia and tenth in the Nation.

Annika Tice ’15 was awarded a bronze medal for placing eighth in Virginia and ninth in the Nation.

Rahab Karout ‘15 and Katherine Leak ’15 both received bronze medals for placing sixth in Virginia and seventh in the Nation.

Mary-Michael Robertson ’15 was awarded the silver medal for placing second in Virginia and third in the Nation. 

French II

Karen Dedegbe ‘15 was awarded a medal for placing third in Virginia and fourth in the Nation.

Dasia Moore ‘14 was awarded a medal for placing fifth in Virginia and sixth in the Nation.

Jessica Zhou ‘15 was awarded a medal for placing seventh in Virginia and eighth in the Nation.  

Additionally Helena Schorling ‘14, Meg Roth ’13, Trilby Hren ‘13, Caitlyn Morris ‘14, and Lena-Marie Patzmann ’14 were honored as new initiates into the French National Honor Society. 

The following Spanish students placed at the top of the National Spanish Exam.

Level 1 – Taina Accime ’13 received a gold medal for placing in the top ninety-fifth percent in the Nation.

Level 2 – Alyssa Parrish ’15 received a bronze medal for placing in the top seventy seventh percent in the Nation.

Level 3 – Noelle Wilton ’14 received a silver medal for placing in the top eighty fifth percent in the Nation.

Level 5 – Marie Merrigan ’12 received a silver medal for placing in the top ninetieth percent in the Nation.  

The following Spanish students received honorable mention for placing in the top sixty to seventy-fifth percent in the Nation.
