Blessing of the Animals

One of the most cherished events of the year took place yesterday—our Blessing of the Animals! In honor of the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, we gathered in the barn courtyard for a beautiful celebration of the creatures who bring us so much joy and companionship.
The joyful procession featured our beloved campus pets, from dogs to cats to even our resident horses, each one cherished by the Chatham Hall family. Students also brought along their favorite stuffed animal friends, who joined in the celebration and received a special blessing, too!

This heartwarming tradition reminds us of the profound connection we share with all creatures, big and small, and of the care we owe to the environment we all share. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so meaningful. Here’s to the animals who enrich our lives and the spirit of kindness and compassion they inspire in us!
