Overnight STEM Camp

  • InnovatHERS in Science

    Dates: June 14-19
    Ages: 11-14
    Cost: $2,000

    This camp is designed to develop 21st-century skills, empowering future female innovators to explore the "why" behind the "what" in science, technology, engineering, and math. Campers will engage in hands-on experiences, from building and programming electronic devices to coding them using a variety of sensors. As they explore, they’ll uncover the physics that drives these circuits and devices, learning how technology connects with the scientific principles behind it.

    In creative sessions at Chatham Hall’s Makerspace, InnovatHERS will experience cutting-edge tools, including 3D printers, laser engravers, and casting with various materials. They’ll dive deep into the chemistry and physics behind these processes, investigating reactions and exploring the creative side of science.

    Throughout the week, campers will have the opportunity to investigate diverse fields within science and technology, all while having fun and learning how to bring their own ideas to life.

    During their stay, campers will reside in air-conditioned dorms under the care of faculty and counselors. Evening activities add even more excitement with tie-dye, s’mores, water balloon fun, bingo, and more, giving girls a taste of boarding school life.

    No prior experience is necessary—just an open mind and a passion for discovery.

Sports Camps

  • Turtle Strong Overnight Camp

    Dates: June 7-20 (2 weeks)
    Ages: 9-14
    Cost: $3,500

    Turtle Strong Camp is a high-energy, adventure-packed boarding camp designed for girls ages 9 to 14. We offer a dynamic mix of athletic activities, exciting excursions, and unforgettable group experiences in a supportive and empowering environment.

    Campers dive into a wide variety of sports, including field hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, and more, where the focus is always on fun, sportsmanship, and skill development. Whether trying something new or honing existing talents, every girl is encouraged to challenge herself and grow.

    Our goal is for each camper to leave with a strong sense of accomplishment, greater independence, and lifelong memories made with both old and new friends.

    During their stay, campers will reside in air-conditioned dorms under the care of faculty and counselors. Evening activities add even more excitement with tie-dye, s’mores, water balloon fun, bingo, and more, giving girls a taste of boarding school life.

  • Basketball Day Camp

    Dates: June 1-5
    Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    Ages: 9-14
    Cost: $175

    Chatham Hall’s Basketball Day Camp is a fun, confidence-building experience for girls ages 9–14, set on our beautiful 365-acre campus in Chatham, Virginia. Running Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., this camp combines skill development, teamwork, and the joy of the game in a welcoming and supportive environment.

    Campers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, whether they are new to basketball or looking to sharpen their abilities. Through engaging drills, game play, and team-focused instruction, girls will build strong fundamentals, learn new strategies, and grow as both individual players and teammates.

    Our goal is for each camper to leave feeling more confident, connected, and inspired, having elevated her game, made new friends, and experienced the spirit of Chatham Hall.

  • Soccer Day Camp

    Dates: June 22-26
    Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    Ages: 9-14
    Cost: $175

    Chatham Hall’s Soccer Day Camp is a fun, confidence-building experience for girls ages 9–14, set on our beautiful 365-acre campus in Chatham, Virginia. Running Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., this camp combines skill development, teamwork, and the joy of the game in a welcoming and supportive environment.

    Campers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, whether they are new to soccer or looking to sharpen their abilities. Through engaging drills, game play, and team-focused instruction, girls will build strong fundamentals, learn new strategies, and grow as both individual players and teammates.

    Our goal is for each camper to leave feeling more confident, connected, and inspired, having elevated her game, made new friends, and experienced the spirit of Chatham Hall.

  • Volleyball Day Camp

    Dates: June 22-26
    Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    Ages: 9-14
    Cost: $175

Alumnae Programming - Overnight

  • Alumnae & Me + Friends: Adventure Weekend

    Dates: June 12-14
    Camper Ages: 6-10
    Cost: $650 for 1 adult & 1 child, $100 per additional child

    Alumnae & Me at Chatham Hall is back, and this year, it's also for you AND your friends. We’re inviting alumnae to return to campus and bring the young girls in their lives, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, goddaughters, or that special little someone (ages 6–10), for a magical weekend side-by-side. And here’s the best part: this year, alumnae can also invite friends and their families to join the fun.
     
    It’s the perfect opportunity for mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, or aunts and nieces to experience camp together, staying in our dorms and sharing the magic of Chatham Hall. Picture yourselves exploring our 365 acres, laughing through activities designed for all ages, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Project Purple & Gold

    Dates: July 17-20
    Ages: Alumnae Only
    Cost: FREE, housing and food included

    Roll up your sleeves and join us for Project Purple & Gold, a long weekend of giving back to the school we love. Think of it as “sweat equity” with a side of laughter: alumnae coming together to tackle summer projects—gardening, painting, sprucing up spaces—while enjoying time on our gorgeous campus.

    The best part? Housing and meals are on us, so all you need to bring is your energy, your stories, and maybe a pair of work gloves. In just a few days, you’ll make a real difference for Chatham Hall, while also making memories with classmates and friends across the decades.
    It’s service, it’s community, it’s a chance to leave your mark in the most hands-on way. And when you see the results—knowing you helped prepare Chatham Hall for the year ahead—you’ll feel that unmistakable Purple & Gold pride.

Riding Programming - Overnight

  • Riding Camp (Waitlist)

    Enrollment Limit: 16
    Dates: Session 1: June 14-19, Session 2: June 21-26
    Ages: 10-16
    Cost: $2,500

    This program is designed to challenge all levels of riders, including advanced riders, with a variety of lesson groups and horses available. All campers must be comfortable independently walking, trotting, and cantering, and should be riding regularly before attending camp.

    Riders participate in two lessons a day with Chatham Hall’s full-time faculty. Lessons vary in size, but are typically groups of four, allowing for focused instruction and learning. Additionally, campers will receive a private lesson, where they can work one-on-one with an instructor to achieve their individual goals. Chatham Hall is home to over 30 horses that reside on campus all year, so they are well-schooled and educated teachers for the campers.

    During their stay, campers will reside in air-conditioned dorms under the care of faculty and counselors. Evening activities add even more excitement with tie-dye, s’mores, water balloon fun, bingo, and more, giving girls a taste of boarding school life.

    To ensure as many riders as possible have the opportunity to attend camp, participants may initially register for only one session. Those who register for multiple camps will be placed on a waitlist for additional weeks. If space remains available closer to the start of camp, we’ll offer those spots to riders interested in attending more than one session.

  • Show Like a Pro (Waitlist)

    Enrollment Limit: 16
    Dates: June 28-July 1
    Ages: 12-16
    Cost: $2,200

    Application Required

    This intensive four-day clinic is designed for intermediate and advanced riders looking to improve their skills in the show ring.

    Riders who attend this camp should be able to confidently jump 2ft courses or higher. While campers do not need prior show experience, they should be interested in gaining an introduction to the USEF and collegiate show formats. For riders already actively competing, the camp offers an opportunity to refine their skills within their current division while also preparing them to excel in future competitions.

    Riders will participate in 2-3 mounted lessons per day from our experienced instructors, focusing on show preparedness and performance. At the end of the four-day residential program, riders will participate in a mock show with a carded USEF judge as well as a roundtable judge’s clinic. Camp also includes a workshop with a nationally recognized Equine Sports Psychologist. 

    During their stay, campers will reside in air-conditioned dorms under the care of faculty and counselors. Evening activities add even more excitement with tie-dye, s’mores, water balloon fun, bingo, and more, giving girls a taste of boarding school life.

Summer at Chatham Hall felt like one big sleepover with people who could become lifelong friends. It gave me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and really connect with others.
REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY

SUMMER PROGRAM DEADLINES
All programs must meet minimum camper registration requirements by March 2, 2026. If sessions do not meet the minimum by this date, families will be contacted and offered the option to switch to another camp or receive a full refund.

SUMMER PROGRAM DEPOSIT
There will be a $500 non-refundable deposit per academy to secure your camper’s spot. All payments, minus the non-refundable deposit, are fully refundable until May 1, 2026. After this date, all money is non-refundable.

PAYMENT
Balances due on all summer programs must be paid in full by May 1, 2026. Campers who fail to meet this payment deadline risk losing their spot and deposits. No refunds will be issued after May 1, 2026, unless there is a public health emergency or an individual medical emergency accompanied by a verifiable doctor’s note. Camps cannot be prorated for missed days during a camp week.

Chatham Hall reserves the right to change the details of any summer program.

FAQs

  • Check-In & Check-Out Times

    Unless otherwise specified, all campers can be dropped off on Sunday at the start of camp between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. All campers must be picked up by noon on the final day of camp. Official drop-off and pick-up times will be sent by your camp counselors closer to the start of camp.

  • Dining and Dietary Restrictions

    All meals are served buffet-style in Yardley Dining. Every meal consists of a main course with vegetarian and vegan options, as well as foods that meet other dietary restrictions. Our dining partner, Meriwether Godsey, uses local and sustainable ingredients and works hard to keep the menus fresh. 

  • Evening Programming

    Evening programming is led by Emma Liss '19, Chatham Hall’s Lead Dorm Advisor, and our camp counselors. Activities include tye-dying shirts, playing board games, exploring campus,  s’mores making, water balloon fun, and bingo.

    Evening Activities for Riding Camp include: Pool Party, Movie Night, Bonfire and S'mores, Tie Dye, Water Balloons and Water Slides Party
     
    For Show Like A Pro: In addition to some of the regular camp activities, the advanced camp includes an Equitation Judging Clinic with a USEF Judge and a Sports Psychology Workshop with Dr. Janet Edgette.

  • Facilities
