Alumna Honored as a Notable Nonprofit Board Leader
Venita Fields '71 was named a 2024 Notable Nonprofit Board Leader by Crain’s Chicago Business for her work supporting youth and racial equality at the James B. Moran Center.
Last week, Venita Fields '71 was honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as a 2024 Notable Nonprofit Board Leader. She was nominated for this prestigious award for her work with the James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy in Chicago. This award shows her dedication and contribution to promoting the mission of this nonprofit.
James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy offers mental health, community-based legal, and restorative services for youth and families in the greater Chicago area. Their goal is to ensure equality in social and legal work for youth in the courts and in the classroom and to support underserved families. Their advocacy work and support bring about positive outcomes for children, youth, and seniors facing legal and social challenges.
As a Board Member, Venita has supported the Moran Center's strategic plan, ensuring that programs match community needs. She has helped drive initiatives for racial equality, justice, and the empowerment of Chaigao youth while supporting the Moran Center's staff.
