Student Opportunity for Deeper Study During January Term

This January Term, Beverly K. ’25 and Paloma E. ’25 embraced the unique opportunity to participate in Chatham Hall’s Veterinary Internship, a program designed for highly motivated students aspiring to careers in veterinary medicine. Guided by Chatham Hall’s Emma Lane and Chatham Animal Hospital’s Dr. Natalie Barker and Dr. Paul Erwin, the internship offers an unparalleled experience for students who have successfully completed the Equine Science class.

The program, a hallmark of Chatham Hall’s commitment to experiential learning, provides invaluable exposure to both large and small animal practices. Beverly and Paloma worked closely with veterinarians, observing and assisting with a range of clinical procedures and treatments. From diagnostic workups to medical procedures and even surgeries, their hands-on learning experiences spanned a variety of species.
