We are thrilled to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Frazier Millner Armstrong ’77, recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Alumna Award. A proud Purple Team member, Frazier embodies the values, leadership, and lasting impact we cherish at Chatham Hall.

With a B.S. in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, Frazier has built an inspiring career spanning journalism, marketing, strategic communications, and nonprofit leadership. From her early days as an award-winning reporter to her executive leadership roles at the Richmond Times-Dispatch and Richmond Symphony, Frazier has shaped meaningful narratives and helped organizations grow their audiences, strengthen their brands, and expand their missions.

Today, she leads through her consulting work, partnering with organizations such as Virginia Community Capital, the Virginia Arts Festival, and StoryCorps to drive strategic change. Her career reflects a deep commitment to community building, purpose-driven communication, and creative collaboration.

Frazier's dedication extends beyond her professional work—she has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Library of Virginia Foundation, Leadership Metro Richmond, Capital Trees, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts, to which she was appointed by Governor Ralph Northam. Her leadership has helped shape countless initiatives in education, women’s empowerment, the arts, and urban green space revitalization.

A tireless advocate for the arts, Frazier’s involvement includes roles with the Richmond Ballet, CultureWorks, and the Richmond Symphony. She’s also a past president of the YWCA of Richmond, where she led a transformative $8.5 million campaign to expand their services for women and children.

Frazier’s passion for empowering women is rooted in her time at Chatham Hall. Her deep appreciation for her alma mater shines through in her 33 years of loyal giving, past service on the Alumnae Council, and upcoming term on the Board of Trustees. Through mentoring, community initiatives, and her founding of the Women’s Dinner Club in Richmond, she continues to uplift and inspire women in every sphere.

We are honored to recognize Frazier Millner Armstrong ’77 as this year’s Distinguished Alumna. Her life’s work is a powerful example of purpose, leadership, and heart—and a true reflection of the Chatham Hall spirit.
