Stephenson was named Rector and Head of School in July.
Sara Stephenson, an accomplished educator and visionary leader, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence and community building. Her appointment marks a significant milestone in Chatham Hall’s storied history as it continues to evolve and thrive as a premier institution for young women.
“It is a great honor to be called to lead and serve the Chatham Hall community,” shares Stephenson. “As we move into our 14th decade of raising the voices of young women, our mission of equipping curious thinkers to lead lives of impact inspires me every day. Chatham Hall is an extraordinary school I am fortunate to call my home.”
The investiture ceremony will be a momentous occasion, celebrating both Mrs. Stephenson’s distinguished career and her new role at Chatham Hall. The event will feature remarks from special guests, including members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, and alumnae, and a special address by Mrs. Stephenson herself.
“The Board is thrilled to have such a passionate and capable partner as we continue our important work equipping curious thinkers to live lives of impact,” said Alison Carter-Cady ’91, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “She organically recognizes and appreciates the value of Chatham Hall girls across the decades and is ready to invest with us as we envision the future of the School.”
Sara Stephenson comes to Chatham Hall with an impressive background in education, having served in various leadership roles at prominent institutions. Her approach to education emphasizes fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can excel both academically and personally.
