Chatham Hall’s Tutu Turtles FRC 9003 made a bold statement at the CHS District Glen Allen VA Event, presented by Dominion Energy, from February 28 to March 2 at Deep Run High School. Competing against 34 teams, the only all-girls team in the competition never dropped below 10th place and finished ranked 6th after qualification matches. The Turtles were then the captain of the 4th seed alliance and were eliminated in the 3rd round of the playoffs—a testament to their skill, strategy, and teamwork.
Beyond their technical prowess, the Tutu Turtles stood out for their creativity and cohesive team identity, earning them the Imagery Award in honor of Jack Kamen. This prestigious award celebrates engineering aesthetics and outstanding visual integration—qualities the Tutu Turtles embodied with their signature tulle-clad look, uniform design, and 3D-printed parts.
The team’s dedication, innovation, and spirit were on full display as they competed with grace and determination. Congratulations to the Tutu Turtles on their outstanding performance—both on their work and the way they presented themselves at the competition!
